Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible to provide technical leadership and support for the development and implementation of process techniques and methods in Bellows and Seals manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Provide technical leadership and support for the development, implementation for process techniques and methods in the manufacturing of the company products. The process includes special processes such as welding, heat treating and chemical processing.

·      Manage, set up, and commissioning of new product line, including implementation of customer specific requirements.

·      Support daily operation in production & quality (Bellows, seals, machine shop, special processes). Lead troubleshooting, investigation and failure analysis of process issue, implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.

·      Develop and improve standard processing and handling equipment requirements and specifications. Review processing techniques and methods used in the manufacturing, fabrication and evaluation of the company products. Review product requirements with design/ engineering authority to ensure compatibility of processing methods and resolving of technical issues.

·      Improve and control key / critical processes to ensure compliance to product and customer requirements.

·      Initiate and lead projects in support of manufacturing process Continuous Improvement.

·      Evaluate and make recommendations for manufacturing tooling maintenance to ensure production throughput levels are maintained.

·      Provide leadership in support of product transfer activities and other assigned projects.

·      Establish and maintain supporting documents such as ECN, MCO, Manufacturing Assisted Documents, Standard Work etc. for smooth operation in supporting Production & Quality Dept.

·      Provide capacity review and planning support.

·      Develop quality dynamic control plan, procedure, work instruction and inspection standards for new process/capability introduction to reduce cost of quality.

·      Prepare process qualification procedures, FAI in-line with customer’s requirement

·      Conduct regular process FMEA, in-process audit, LPA to validate process and quality system compliance.

·      Implement and maintain all programs required by customer and accreditation bodies.

·      Assist Facility/Maintenance Dept in troubleshoot and machine improvement.

·      Perform any other task that may be assigned by the Senior Mfg Engineering engineer or Mfg Engineering manager.

Specialized Skills/Knowledge :

• Experience in mechanical component manufacturing.

o   Experience with weld quality verification techniques and standards preferred but not essential.

o   Knowledge of welding effects on materials and ability to identify and correct common problems (Voids, Inclusions, excess HAZ) preferred but not essential.

• Knowledge of manufacturing process control (ISO); Six Sigma, Lean Mfg
• Experience in Technical Document Creation.
• Knowledgeable in Process Troubleshooting and investigation.
• Experience in using Problem solving tool; Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.

Basic Qualifications :

·         At least a Degree in Mechanical / Material / Aeronautical Engineering

·         At least 5 year experience in manufacturing Engineering

·         Candidate who is familiar with Aerospace industry specifications and requirement e.g. Nadcap or AS9000 will have distinct advantage.

·         Good knowledge in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing techniques. Candidates with Six Sigma Green belt and above certification will be preferred.

·         Ability to provide manufacturing tooling design and modifications

·         Experienced with weld quality verification techniques and standards preferred

·         Knowledge of processes such as heat treatment, metal forming, chemical processing (passivation).

·         Ability to interpret technical drawings / schematics.

·         Able to work with little or no supervision and be a self-motivated individual.

·         Display initiative and willingness to learn new disciplines and accept responsibilities

·         Sound command of written & spoken English
